Director of Finance and Administration
Description

Opportunity for a bright and talented finance professional with significant ambition to join our team. The successful candidate will be self motivated and be able to take a ball and run with it. On a tactical level, the individual will support day to day finance and accounting functions. However, the most exciting part is the Director of Finance will help define the strategic positioning of Frustum in the market and facilitate a priced equity round expected in 2H17 or 1H18.

 

Job Summary

The Director of Financial and Administration will lead financial management and coordinate administrative support for Frustum, Inc. This highly visible position will act as a financial point person for the CEO and Senior Management and manage the contracted services of human resources, payroll, and accounting.

 

Key Responsibilities: (Not listed in order of importance. Other responsibilities may be assigned.)

  1. Financial Planning and Analysis
    1. Revise and Update the 3yr Strategic Plan on an annual basis
    2. Lead budget and forecast processes to maximize financial performance of the Company
    3. Support business decision making with financial and statistical analysis
    4. Liaison with outside advisors/bankers for the Company’s financial go-to-market strategy
    5. Monitor/benchmark the Company’s Operating and Financial performance to the Industry
  2. Controller
    1. Oversee the classification of accounting transactions and maintain reporting integrity
    2. Review and communicate justification and judgements for accounting accruals and revenue recognition
    3. Ensure that all financial analysis, systems, and procedures are in compliance with Company policies and acceptable accounting practices while maintaining high integrity of reports and effective internal controls
    4. Perform all AR/AP via third party administration
  3. Administration
    1. Ensure third party firms responsible for payroll and benefits fullfill roles as required
    2. Maintain Company Financial and Legal records
 
Experience
Likely, the successful candidate will have demonstrated fast career progression in an established company with institutionalized financial structure and processes; however, will have an entrepreneurial ambition that was likely constrained by a larger company and moved into the fast moving start-up world and has experienced the diversity of skills required for a “financial athlete”.     Skills would span accounting and financial planning. Candidate must be able to create strategic models, company information memorandums as well as understand the basic components of the Company’s general ledger. Would expect candidate to have minimum of 7-10 years of professional experience.
 
Supervisory Responsibility

This position will have outsourced resources to manage such as payroll and tax accountants.

 
Work Environment

This position is stationed at the company headquarters in Boulder Colorado in an office and studio environment. Many employees enjoy a bike-to-work commute with the many bike path routes to the office but, there is ample parking as well. All employees have operable sit-stand desks, monitors and computers provided.

 
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or similar disciplines, MBA and/or CPA is preferred.
